Bluebird

And the next single is…

"Bluebird" was the first song I wrote for this album—the first color and the first opening line, and it began in 2020. ... There is so much I could say, but you know.

It was a time of loss, and there was so little to do about it all.

In 2020, I came across a story about a theater in New York—another theater closing down without any way of knowing how long the doors would be locked shut, and here is where I learned about the tradition of a ghost light. It is tradition when a show closes for a theater to leave a light in the auditorium shining down on the stage until their next production begins. But for this New York theater, their ghost light was not only following an old tradition but it was also a promise. A promise that they would return. They would open the doors again—their theater and everything within it would be back.

I needed a ghost light promise of my own...

This is Bluebird. I hope you like it.

Radio Show 📻

On Sunday (October 29), I will be on the Hootenanny Cafe Radio Show at 9 PM (ET), hosted by Jon Stein! And he will be featuring songs from Colors & Covers! I got to choose the theme for this week's show and decided on "Colors." Other artists have submitted songs for the show as well, and I'm looking forward to hearing what they all came up with! If you'd like to tune in, you can find all the ways to do so here

(Single #3 coming your way next Friday, and the new album on November 10th!)

Dear Mr. Green

There's a brand new song out today (surprise!!) called "Dear Mr. Green,” and you can find it on Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and… all of the places!

It was inspired by a beautiful garden about 20 minutes from my house and the secret gardener who takes such perfect care of it. Ah, I hope you like this song.

Listen to Dear Mr. Green here!

To Wisconsin & Colorado 🚌

I wanted to let you know I'll be taking to the road in a couple weeks--heading to lovely Door County, Wisconsin! I've been looking forward to this show in Fish Creek since performing there for the first time last summer, and I would love to see you!

And to steal from my last-year self... No matter how long I'm away, the Midwest will always feel like home, and I'm extra glad when touring takes me that way. I can't wait to meet up with old friends and "friends I don't know yet." (I really have to stop quoting my songs... But you see, moments such as this are exactly where those lines come from! :) )

Also, I'm excited for my first gig in Colorado, opening for The Wildwoods!!

Lightfoot EP

Surprise! Today is the day!! 🎉

Lightfoot is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Pandora, and a handful of other streaming platforms.

(And there will be a CD soon! It is still in production. However, you can pre-order Lightfoot here, I will be sure to sign it, and then we'll get it to you as soon as we possibly can!)

*Tosses confetti every which way!*

This four-song collection begins with my "Lightfoot" and is followed by three of my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs... (Two of which were included on earlier albums, and one is brand new!)

I've always wanted to record an entire album of Gordon Lightfoot's songs for the simple reason that picking out one favorite at a time is nearly impossible. That may still be a project we work on in the future, but for now, this four-song mini-album will hold that place.

I am so excited to share these songs with you. And I hope you love 'em.
For now they are yours.

All the love,
Brittany Jean
