Any Gordon Lightfoot fans in the audience tonight?

At every single gig, I say...

One of my all-time, forever favorite songwriters is Gordon Lightfoot.

My sister, brothers, and I all grew up listening to Gordon Lightfootโ€™s musicโ€ฆ because his albums are what my dad listened to most. Because of my dad, I am a lifelong fan, too.

The Pony Man, If You Could Read My Mind, Shadows, Too Late For Prayin', Bitter Green, The Canadian Railroad Trilogy, It's Worth Believin', Christian Island, Summertime Dream, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Sit Down Young Stranger, The Minstrel of the Dawn...

These songs were playing while we did the dishes at night, while we played board games on the living room floor, during our morning chores on the weekend, while my dad worked in his office and at his drawing table, on roadtrips to my Grandma and Grandpa's house, while I was curled up on the couch with a book in my hands...

These songs were part of the soundtrack of my childhood years and still are to this day.

Gordon Lightfoot's writing--the way he crafted his songs so beautifully and so genuinely--has inspired me and the way I hope to write.

And... I miss him.

For the last few years, a song has been simmering in my thoughts. A little over a month ago, this song was finished and recorded. I had hoped to send the troubadour this song as a "thank you" for the beautiful stories and melodies he shared with... well, with me. And with everyone else who took them to heart.

Sadly, I can't give it to him... but I would very much like to share it with you.

The song is called "Lightfoot," and I'm planning on releasing it everywhere soon. However, it is possible to hear it earlier because one radio station in the world has it already and has been spinning it.

It may take some patience to catch it, but if you'd like to listen and try to wait for it, you can maaaaaybe hear it on WBSD Radio (Burlington, WI) by either tuning in or listening online here! (Let me know if you hear it! :D )

And I will let you know when the song releases everywhere else!
I can't wait to share it with you...

All the love,
Brittany Jean

On the Radio charts ๐Ÿ“ป

For this first update in the new year, I have something exciting to share with you...

In December, we stepped into the Big Leagues of Folk Radio, not knowing how that might go or what to expect. Another skip into the unknown.

Well.

The Folk Music Radio Airplay Charts (maintained by Folk Alliance International) were just announced for December 2022, and...

Wintertide was the #2 Album

My rendition of "Song For a Winter's Night" made the Top Songs of the Month

And I was also in the Top 3 Artists! (What?!)

A massive thank you to Jared Ingersol for getting Wintertide into the right hands and to every radio DJ who played even one song for their audiences.
(Let alone those who played the entire album!)

Of course numbers are fun, and if you'd like to check out the charts for yourself, you can find them right here! (You might see some familiar names!) Most of all though, I am thrilled and so grateful that my snowy, wintry songs are being heard.
That Wintertide had a place this Christmas.

And now I need to get back to writing... More music to come.

All the love,
Brittany Jean

One Year Of Wintertide โ„

Hello friends!
Wintertide was released one year ago today! And what a year it has been!!

(The other day I was doing some counting, and we had over 50 shows since last November! THANK YOU for coming out to the gigs and concerts. Thank you.
As John Denver wrote, "You know I love to sing my songs for you."

And this is just one of the highlights from this year. There have been plenty more. Passing a million total views on YouTube, charting on College Radio, "That Night" playing #1 on WBSD Radio this summer (yes, a Christmas song in the middle ofsweet summertime), the shows in Wisconsin, and some things I can't even tell you about yet even though I so badly want to!)

So to help celebrate this first anniversary of the winter album, everything in the store will be on sale until the end of November. Albums, sweatshirts, and if you would like a Wintertide Mug, we're working on getting 'em restocked--so keep an eye out for those!

All the love,
Brittany Jean
