"Wander With Me" is the name of one of the songs on the album, and it was written for you. Yep! For you! You who are reading this right now!
One of my favorite things in all of my musical travels... is seeing an old friend walk into the farmers market because she could hear me singing as she drove by, being surprised by Michael and Sue when they show up to so many of my gigs, seeing all the kids at the Bakery in Pateros running around and dancing while I sing (or sitting on the edge of the platform much to their parents' chagrin), meeting fellow Gordon Lightfoot and John Denver fans, getting to travel further from home to sing for people who have been supporting me since day one, receiving notes that lift my heart from someone I've never met on the other side of the globe...
I said "one of my favorite things", but then I started listing them and... there are so many more things that I love... I could easily keep going.
You.
You are my favorite thing about what I do.
You make me feel like I have a place.
And I can't thank you enough for that.
As I wrote this song for you, my fellow wanderers, I felt like this would be the perfect name for the album. For the entire album is for you.
And I can hardly wait for it to be yours.
