Silent Night

I love the classic Christmas songs...

They are as familiar as home, woven into the season, a painted backdrop as gentle as snow falling outside your windows, and in some cases... there are 200 years' worth of history within their verses. "Silent Night" was written in 1816 by Joseph Mohr, a young Austrian priest with a soft heart. A couple years later, on a cold Christmas Eve, Joseph visited his friend Franz Gruber to ask if he would compose a melody for his poem so it might be sung that evening at their midnight Christmas Eve service. With just a couple hours and a guitar, Franz created the melody we know, and a Christmas carol was born.

Over 200 years of singers singing this song until now. Simple verses sharing the Christmas Story. Sharing hope. Sharing everything. And it still holds us. It holds me.

Merry Christmas, dear hearts...

All the love, Brittany
