A New Single
As some of you may know, my all-time favorite author just so happens to be my wonderfully talented sister, Jenelle Schmidt, and she has published a four-book, epic fantasy series called The Minstrel's Song. In Book 4 (called "Minstrel's Call"), part of the adventure hinges around one man who starts to sing a song to fight off his own fears. One by one, everyone around him joins in the song, and... well, I won't tell you in case you want to read it for yourself.
Jenelle wrote beautiful lyrics into the story, and she let me put those words to music.

Before the new year begins though, I want to thank you for this one.

For showing up at my gigs, for creating some of those gigs, for memorizing my songs and singing along, for sharing my music with friends, for coming up to talk to me during breaks, for sending me encouraging notes and letters, for sharing your stories, for inspiring me, for being impatient for Album 4, for giving me a place…
Thank you.
Life is an adventure full of crazy twists and turns, and I like having you along with me.
I'm looking forward to what this next year holds for us!

P.S. The shows in Federal Way and Everett were so much fun! I loved every minute. I do feel a bit spoiled... after playing in such lovely theaters--one brand new and the other 118 years old... Can I just play in theaters all the time now? :)
